- How do I search using the promotional boxes?
The promotional boxes are in single columns and located on each side of all the pages. These boxes are changed regularly as new releases appear each week along with new promotional prices.
If you click on any product image or its title it will take you to the actual product page.
However if you click on the title of the promotional box that will take you to a different page relating to that subject.
If the promotional box title relates to the product shown in the actual box then it is likely that all clickable areas will take you to the same product page.
- Can I search for a particular film studio?
Not at present.
Although it is possible to search for 'Ealing' or 'Hammer' by placing either one of these words into the 'Enter Keywords' search box. This will produce all the relevant studio titles. This is because we have added the studio name into the main product title.
- Can I search by DVD label?
Yes. At the top of page, third along on the search boxes you will find one named 'All Labels'. Just use the drop down arrow to reveal all the labels we currently deal with. Click on your label of choice and press the 'Go' tab. This will produce all the product titles relating to any chosen label.
Once this task has been completed remember to click back on to the 'All Labels' tab before carrying out any further general search. Otherwise your search results will become limited.
- Can I search for an actor or director?
At present we do not have this facility within the product page. However this will be introduced as part of the phase 2 development of our website.
- I have found my product - how do I retrace my steps?
You can retrace your footsteps from a product page by going to the series of titles (breadcrumbs) in blue which is located between product title and search boxes. Click on any of the words to retrace your route of entry.
Alternatively you can press on the 'home' tab or our logo - both located at the top of the page on the left. Either will return you to our homepage.
- I have searched your webstore but I cannot find that elusive title - what next?
We welcome and encourage all questions on titles that you cannot find.
It could be that the title has yet to be released on dvd, already been released and become deleted or is a future planned release that we are aware of.

- What does aspect ratio mean?
The aspect ratio of a film is essentially the ‘shape’ that the film is shown in, a specification which varies from film to film. Films made prior to 1954 were generally filmed in Academy standard ratio, which is about 1.37 to 1 (roughly similar to a standard television screen) other formats are generally “wider” including 1.66 to 1 (VistaVision), 2.35:1 (CinemaScope) and others.
- Letterbox - what does this mean?
Standard television sets have a ratio of roughly 4:3, whereas most films seen in the cinema are much wider. Therefore, in order to view a film in its correct aspect ratio on a standard television, a compromise must be made. To do this, the picture is reduced in size and black bars appear at the top and bottom of the screen.
- Anamorphic - what does this mean?
Anamorphic widescreen is designed to provide a higher definition image in a widescreen format. Looking closely at your television you might spot that the image consists of hundreds of horizontal lines which, when viewed from a more sensible distance form an image. Discs formatted anamorphically (or labelled ‘enhanced for widescreen televisions’) essentially are made up of more of these ‘lines’, resulting in a sharper image on widescreen televisions. Anamorphic films will work normally on standard televisions, although they will not benefit from the enhancement.
