There is a
hedge that runs across the bottom of the field towards the stream. It
looks just like any ordinary hedge. But come a little closer - there
are small front doors half hidden in the tangled roots, and little
curtained windows in the leafy trunks. Groups of mice can be glimpsed
in the long grass playing and going about their everyday business.
Brambly
hedge evokes a lost way of life - warm, cosy and safe, but not without
humour and drama. Simple, yet rich with detail, kind and responsible,
you can't but help let the mice of Brambly Hedge touch your heart.
The
Secret Staircase Primrose and Wilfred set off looking for costumes
for the midwinter celebrations, when they come across a staircase...
The
High Hills Wilfred is determined to follow in the pawprints of his
exploring hero, but when a mist descends on the mountain just how well
he will cope is yet to be seen. 'Sea Story' - The mice of Brambly
Hedge run out of salt, so a trip down the river to the sea is due to
fetch more from the Saltapple family.
'Poppy's Babies' Living in
the mill with three little babies is not easy for Poppy. Soon the mice
realise that an old cottage used for storing wood could be the pefect
alternative home for the Dogwood family.
